This 2096 m high mountain gives you the most amazing views. Glaciers, mountain rivers, snowy peaks, and stunning views are the first that will give you the most amazing experiences.
In this 5-day adventurous hike, you will wander around Kebnekaise peak, and when it's the right time and the weather allows you will climb up there. To almost catch the sky and look at Scandinavia from the top.

Pre-days
Ask for help if you are not sure how to travel to the starting point. We offer help with transfer from many locations up here!
NB! All participants will have a free transfer from Kiruna to Nikkaluokta and back after the adventure.
Day 1 | Day 2 |
We will gather the group in Nikkaluokta and hike near to the Kebnekaise mountain station. We will sleep in tents near an awesome mountain river and already have a view to higher mountains while we enjoy nice wilderness meals. Its approx 20 km on quite flat ground. | After a nice cup of tea and coffee we will turn off from the main trails already in the morning. We move towards Tarfala mountain cabins. We reach there by lunchtime and by that time we are above treeline and in 1168 m altitude. We will have lunch there and a marvellous view to the glaciers and lakes. After the lunch we climb up next to the glacier and this part of the trail is very rarely used by other people. After crossing the ridgeline about 1500 m high, we start to see our next camping place close to the lakes. Its approx 15 km on steep mountains. |
Day 3 | Day 4 |
We wake up surrounded by higher mountains and start walking down towards Kungsleden. We will have lunch at Kungsleden hut and walk about an hour on this famous hiking trail before we turn back to offroad trails and start taking altitude for next days Kebnekaise peak. Surrounded by awesome mountains, rivers and lakes we reach to 1331 m altitude and spend our night close to most likely frozen mountain lake. Its about 20 km of average steep walking. | Its Kebnekaise peak day! Ahead is a nice day where we walk to the main trail for to go up to Kebnekaise peak, 2096 m! We reach there by lunchtime and have the most amazing views and emotions! For the night we walk back near to Kebnekaise mountain station where we will spend the night in the most beautiful green valley! Its about 15 km of steep mountain path. |
Day 5 | After |
We visit the Kebnekaise mountain station where you can buy souvenirs or some snacks for our last walk back to Nikkaluotka! The day is approx 21 km. | We will help you back to civilization! Ask for more information but there is a variety of different accommodations in the area. Most likely we are back between 16:00 - 18:00. |

How long is the expedition? |
It's up to 100 km all together. |
What will I be eating? | We will have a variety of hiking food. Both vegan and meat are available. Please let us know with special requests. |
Where shall I sleep? | We will spend the nights outdoors in tents. Note that your sleeping gear is not included in the price. |
Do I need special mountain gear? |
No, the trail is suitable with average hiking gear.

Is it going to be cold or warm? | Both. It can be from +15C in the daytime to below minus degrees at nighttime and on top of Kebnekaise. |
Can I do it? | We will take it easy, but always keep in mind - we will go up to the mountains and it can be challenging. |
Tips for your experience to be at its best:
- dress according to the weather;
- bring extra clothes to be able to change;
- wear comfortable footwear;
- bring mosquito repellent with you;
- your snacks to bring are recommended as this keeps the spirit high;
- note that it can snow at the higher points of mountains.
